Amazon will create 600 new permanent jobs in Spain in 2019

Amazon will add 600 new workers to its workforce in Spain during this year, as announced on Friday. In this way, it will reach 5,400 permanent employees by the end of this year.

Since 2013 Amazon has created the equivalent of 15 jobs a week in Spain, according to its calculations.

Among vacancies for all types of profiles and levels of training: from engineers and software developers to entry-level, data scientists, experts in machine learning (machine learning) and cloud services (cloud).

As the company continues to invest in the country and innovating, “Spain is becoming an important center of global talent”, said the country manager of Amazon in Spain and Italy, Mariangela Marseglia.

“We are proud to continue creating jobs in Spain and we look forward to welcoming 600 new colleagues to Amazon this year,” he added.

Amazon is expanding its Software Development Center in Madrid, with a new team dedicated to technologies for Kindle, its e-book, and books. He plans to hire 200 new employees until the end of 2020.

The development centers in Madrid and Barcelona employ more than 270 people dedicated to Amazon Business, international expansion and technologies such as machine learning, among others.

The founder of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, through his investment vehicle Pontegadea, has rented to Amazon seven plants of the Cepsa Tower in Madrid that total about 11,500 square meters of surface.
